Private Tour.
More and more people are discovering the pleasure of a glass of great galician wine. This Tour will give you the chance to taste the wines from the galician southern area called Rias Baixas, through visits of fascinating historical wineries, vineyards or enjoying the best in seafood.
The white young wine, ‘Rias Baixas’ is found in the southern coast of Galicia – particularly in the Salnés valley – but also in other four subzones. Soutomaior, Condado do Tea, O Rosal and Ribeira do Ulla Its familiar name is Albarino, because of the name of the grape.
During our visit, history will appear in front of us through medieval towers, churches, parishes or the oldest cellars in Europe, vineyards cultivated by the monks from France more than 800 years ago! The ground and the weather along with the fact of being native grapes make of Rias Baixas a unique wine to experience.
Exclusive editions of Rias Baixas wine produced by families established here for centuries are something to live, to see, to taste.
During harvest time – generally September – we have the chance to witness it all through the present art of hand collected grapes, natural processes in many occasions and respect for nature.
Depending on the number of people, you may book meals with the traditional Galician food in wineries, protected by summer grapes leaves..winery boutiques where you may taste fabulous sea food from the Atlantic along with a fresh white Rias Baixas wine. The chances are many.
The Galicia Food and Wine Tour departs from Santiago or Vigo at 9 AM from May to September 2017 and it includes, with my private transport with driver, the visit of Combarro – one of the most traditional fishermen village in Galicia – Cambados, a charming medieval town described as the capital of Albarino wine. We will visit two wineries or winery and a trip by pleasant Catamaran through the Ria de Arosa to watch the mussels factories at sea in the traditional Bateas – eucaliptus platforms – and taste them along with a bottle of wine!
The unique panoramic route will give us the chance to watch medieval towers, clam farming, La Toxa island famous for its natural spring waters and La Lanzada 2,5 km sandy beach
We will be back to Santiago or Vigo around 5 PM
