A promenade from Coruna into the gothic town of the knights famous for its gorgeous spanish omelette too…

This 5 hours Tour will give the chance to visitors to discover the fascinating medieval town of Betanzos of the Knights, its museum,  its alleys, monuments and stories and – why not – tasting its famous Tortilla tapa – Spanish omelette made with eggs and potatoes – plus a glass of red local wine. The tour includes a Private Car or Minibus  panoramic tour of Coruna 7 kilometers promenade and view of the Unesco World Heritage Site, Tower of Hercules.

Betanzos historically had an important role, being part of the Provinces of the old Kingdom of Galicia and where from the XIII century the family Andrade lived and left signs of its presence in walls, in gothic churches, bridges and hospitals. Some of them are still there to be enjoyed by the visitor. Furthermore, the town is part of the English Way that leads pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela. For centuries pilgrims arriving from northern Europe disembarked in Ferrol port and started their pilgrimage. England, Germany, Holland and Ireland were in many cases their countries of origin.

In the XX century the town – overcome by then by the most important commercially speaking Coruna and Vigo – received the help of two of his citizens – the Naveira brothers –  who migrated long time before to Argentina. Being successful there, when they came back they created schools, social buildings, a park and a senior residence.

A visit to the As Marinas Museum will give the visitor the chance to discover among many traditional objects of Galician everyday life , archeological examples of the galician Celt and Roman presence. Probably the hightlight could be considered the Apostolate made by Rubens and his scholars. For some will be the more than one hundred years old movie projector in Galicia.

When we walk in the old town alleys Its wood made balconies look so attractive were actually once created with purposes such as drying clothes, corn or simply enjoy the air of summer nights.

The visit to the International Center of Contemporary Printmaking where its gallery show us works by Picasso, Dalí, Mirò and Tapies among many others is a must.
